GURU REST IN PEACE

17/07/1966 - 19/04/2010 R.I.P.

BYE MATE!

19th April 2010, Keith Elam is dead after a long battle to the devasting effects of a cardiac arrest. Originally of Boston he became early an important figure for the Brooklyn hip hop stage. GURU i can say was one of the first jazz and hip-hop fusion "scientist" and one of the mentor for the younger mc's like Jeru The Damaja (who collaborated in the song "No Shame In My Game"). Besides Gang Starr he had his project Jazzmattaz (a collection of various musical genres). His first solo album is Version 7.0: The Street Scriptures released in 2005. Bye mate thanks for all! A piece of story has passed! So sad...
